.... and we have been some serious wedding planning machines!
we did our food tasting a few weeks back - the verdict: DELISH! we were fat and happy after our detail appointment and are really excited to go back and do our wine tasting in september. kevin and i have been so pleased with every ponte experience we have had to date, which is just so great to know that we decided on a place that treats us well and presents themselves with such class. it will be really cool to see our whole vision come together, since everything up to this point has been done in pieces. everyone who is working to help make our day come together has such a creative zest, that to see all of these creative forces come together is really going to be something special :)
kevin and his buddies will be headed to the great american beer festival at the end of september for his bachelorette party! i am sure there will be some entertaining stories that come home from this weekend away with the boys! he is super stoked and really looking forward to spending some quality guy time drinking some of the best brews in the world. he went last year and had such a great time, that he thought it would be the perfect way to celebrate... so, raise your glass for kevin and the boys sept 24-26.
the girls and i will be heading out to the temecula wineries for some wine tasting in mid-september. i thought this would be a great way to spend some quality time with everyone and it would really help set the mood for the wedding! we love the wine country and i want to share it with my nearest and dearest. plus, we will get to enjoy lunch at ponte :) i am really excited for my gf's to get a preview of what is to come for our big day... salud!
we just approved our invitations - thank goodness - those things were a beast! we had a really nasty experience at an invitation store, where it seemed as though the sales lady was more concerned with getting our money than she was with addressing our questions and concerns. let's just say, that bridezilla was very close to making an appearance that day.... but, lucky for the sales lady, zilla decided to bite her dagger tongue... so, we came home, got back to the drawing board and found something online, with which we were super pleased. we had a ton of creative control and were able to put a lot of ourselves into them, which really made the process a lot more fun and special for 2 total control freaks :)
our registry has been completed! kevin and i had a really fun time with that registry gun - we beeped our way through macy's and crate and barrel. it is amazing how many different types of plates and serving spoons and sheets there are in the world. it got stupid after a while. all in all though, we found some cool stuff that i think our friends and family will see and think " this is so katie and kevin".
we are really having a lot of fun planning this celebration together - it is yet one more thing that we can say we have done as a couple :) i think it speaks volumes about kevin and how committed he is to being a part of the planning process. most guys don't really dig stuff like this, but kevin is all about it...he my little planning partner in crime. i am sure this will not come as a surprise to hear that we have a color-coded spreadsheet that keeps us on track (we really are meant for each other!) i think our favorite part of this whole process is getting to check things off our our list - HA! planning our wedding celebration as a team has been a total blast and we have learned even more about each other throughout the process.
we cannot freakin wait for our big day!
cheers.
